| The Family Band – Moonbeams Lyrics | 13 years ago |

This song is performed in a deeply emotional way, and the lyrics are very cryptic and dream-like. I think it's very possible that the songwriter herself did not have a specific "meaning" or "message" in mind when she wrote this. But that's OK. I think the best poetry comes out when your not analyzing it too much. That being said, here's what I take the song to mean. She's basicallly saying this: I think you are amazing. I see how beautiful you are, and the things you are saying, well, it's blowing my mind. (moonbeams in your mouth, stardust pouring out, etc.) I would like to connect with you. I am willing to show myself to you. (if you wonder what I need, I will tell you just what I need/where I am/what I want)... HOWEVER... I'm not going to connect with you in some casual, small-talk way. I need to see that you are truly interested in connecting with me. (I gotta hear your wondering sound). As for the part about "this book" being "two pages deep, no pictures, no screens", I'm not sure what to make of that. Would love to hear someone else's theory. Also, the video for this (I saw it on youtube) is very original, and adds to the emotional impact of the lyrics. I just love this song so much, I hope more people hear it and contribute to this page. |
