Hey all, I'm not sure all of Aes's songs have one thing that the song is about beyond just a stream-of-consciousness type flow of little ideas which run a few lines each and are patched together into a song. Some do have one clear theme, but I don't think this one does, so I'm not sure we're going to make much progress by looking to the title for clues. That being the case, I've tried to work out what he could mean line by line. Here are some suggested corrections to the lyrics above (I could be wrong!). "I notice THEY'RE making mockeries..." pedantic, I know, but it clarifies the meaning. "my 20 000 leagues END IN GRAND SARDONIC FATIGUE" "where the centipedes and serpents BICKERED on ..." "the uprooted turned MOODY..." "I SUNK MY skull caught between..." "It only takes one slacker to attack ALACRITY..." "IN COMPLIANCE WITH TYRANT REGULATIONS poachers..." "NOOSED BY THE NOTICE, seduced by the ambience..." "My sit time's on some 'Here, I lay these bricks alone to build the walls among'..." The punctuation makes the meaning clearer "System is DEFUNCT, I'm in a lull..." "boycotted the wattages POISED for the prodding of the rotting bottled hostage..." "this playtime TRINKET..." |
