I think this song is demonstrating how life is cruel. Bad things happen daily, yet we put it behind us and almost find pleasure in them. These things seem to happen in slow motion, and we witness them, but instead of doing something, we just see ourselves let go. He is speaking through his own experiences of how he let go himself. Being famous glamorized his wrath and he says his excuse is needing the money. He asks what our excuse is and says the jokes on you to make us feel foolish so that we challenge ourselves so that we can make a change. |

For me this song is about how people are often very involved in other peoples business. People are always so concerned with others instead of just minding their own business. He talks about peeping toms, he says "Headlines read Someone's secrets You've seen", and "eyes and ears have satelite dish in my yard" which all refer to people knowing other peoples lives. But at the end he says "i laugh about this weathermans satelite eyes" which is the the songs final meaning i think. Weathermen are often wrong about the weather for the week which we can all relate to. Just as the weathermen are wrong, peoples judgements of other can be wrong. |
