Definitely from one of the best era's in music - the 80's! I think that from the lyric 'I wanna dance with somebody', it could possibly mean that she wants to be happy, rejoice and forget her worries - if that someone would just love her. Great song, love Whitney! Xx |

For me personally, the meaning of this song is that no matter how good of a person you may think you are, you can always make that little improvement to make the world a better place for you and others around you. It's about finding the wrong things in yourself and making them right. Also, it is about everybody contributing together so that the world can be a better place - and no matter what you do to make life more enjoyable, every little thing counts. It's also a song targetting all of the suffering in the world and the bad - showing that it doesn't need to be this way. And, most importantly for me - it shows that before you look at other people, and critisize them for their choices, decisions and their ways - look at YOURSELF, because you are not so perfect as you might think you are. Personally, I think the song is about something/someone that has made her life more colourful, enjoyable and complete. The word 'acapella' makes me think of something that is alone, singular or not complete. Whatever it is, it has brought much more to her life and she now feels more complete and less alone. |
