I think its Arcade Fire saying how they have a dream of fame and being well known and how they won't let this dream die. The 1st section is seeing his dream which is always the same. "Same old city with a different name" makes me think they want to be playing his music all over. The 2nd section you see the pressure he is feeling to make this dream come true. Its not easy to make it big. The 3rd section is saying that people might have heard of the band, but they don't think much of them. But they leave you optimistic "Its coming. Oh when?" They you hear the chorus "Keep the Car Running" Which makes me think that they are going to keep going pursing the dream. Then he talks about the "fear" he feels. I think thats the fear of failure. Then he repeats "They know my name because I told it to them..." to show how things just never seem to pick up for them. Then the section before the outro " If some night I don't come home..." I think he's recognizing the optical in his path to fame. He is hopeful for a break yet he sees it is a high climb. Then they go back to the main chorus. The optimist feeling returns. |

This song is about how everyone judges everyone and wants to find something wrong with them. Even when your doing nothing wrong (Sin with hands in pockets) and even doing the right thing (cherub's smile) people will say your not a good person for whatever the reason. They say we live Dirty Lives, but they don't see it that way at all. |

Isaac always seems to change the lines when he's live so don't be surprised when some of this is off. I think the "?'s" are keep it wild and make it hurt... but its pretty hard to make out. Also I heard that Big Boi is producing the Album and some rap might be on it. |

Well the lead singer of Modest Mouse Issac Brock also sings in this song.
I think the song is about being high and forgetting the things you did. It seems like maybe he's hylousinating on drugs. Some events in the song are just crazy... "there was dressed up alligators" Then when he comes back into himself he thinks "How the hell'd I get here?" |

It defiantly seems to be about what Mutantsquid(lol) said.
"As I lay In the grass Knowing now Things will pass Now I know things will pass So I glide on this moment in time"
In this quote he realizes that the tough time he endured will pass yet he knows there is always "Two ways Out" referring to suicide I presume. Yet he does not mention suicide other than it is an option. I think knowing there's another way out comforts him and that helps him to get over tough times. Simply a Beautiful song. |

I think that it's about the Environment as well. I think the message is stop polluting our earth and leave just alittle window in our atmosphere. I can also see the point of anti-war, but I think that they mean we all wear the same color as far as saving the Earth goes. |
