I agree with 95% of what you said, but I'm pretty sure that 'the murder' is figurative. I.E.: The husband has killed the marriage. And the end part is him talking to his daughter about her mother. (the beggining of the song explaines that the husband has custody over the daughter). The grave of the mother signifies the death of the daughter's mother-figure. I also think that the title of the song means how our society is becoming to believe that divorce is inevitable; it can't be stopped. |

Wow, the guitars on this song are really...meloncolly; this song gives me goosebumps. But I guess that goes to show that it's such a deep song. The chorus definatly addresses depression and how he must have lost all faith in himself. But "look to the skies...see his open arms." And how "heroin has no healing to this unfortunate tragedy": heroin is not the answer, but God is. I bet this song brings a tear to his eye every time sings it. |

| I totally agree with you. I guess I need to refraise that. I meant that when you do somehting, you cant take it back, but yes, God is the only one who can. I guess you caould say this is one of half a message: When you sin, there's consquenses, but then God comes and forgives and erases your sins | |

That is the difference of microevolution, and macroevolution. The latter of which, is the false one. Macroevolution= Man to ape, dinos to birds, etc. microevolution(natural selection)= why a rabbit may be white in cold climate, and brown in warmer climate; or how there are so many breeds of cats and dogs. People stereotype evolution as macroevolution, there are are forms of evolution that are true. |

I love how most people intepret te song from one line, out of context. But my thought, is that the song is about falling into temptation (any temptation) "You've fallen in love with a dream you've never had." Is probably talking about how sin is so attractive, and can make it seem like you've wanted it all your life. "What's done is done"- sin can't be reversed. "Don't worry. We saw through your trickery, and were coming out alive."- Now, they are talking to sin. They saw through the disguise of sin. The song is pretty straitfoward, it doesn't have to be about a particular sin people have done, it's just a bout sinning; ergo "Black Sheep". |
