I've known about WCAR for long enough that I should have heard about this song by now. Found it on youtube the other day since I still don't own "To Plant A Seed" :(, and I absolutely love it! The imagery from this song is fascinating to me. But overall, I'd have to say to me, this song is about how hard it is for humans to change habits, to move on from our pasts, and to look forward. The line about "sleeping on stones" confused me at first, but I think the stones are an analogy to those habits, and how at the beginning, they aren't all that comfortable or enjoyable, but as time goes on, they get "formed to our spines", and become part of us, part of who we are. The only thing about WCAR is that their lyrics aren't too cryptic. So, I probably restated the obvious lol. |

| REALLY late in putting this in I know. To me, this song is about surviving in a cruel and harsh world. The people speaking are telling the singer never to trust anyone, and to keep themselves closed off. They are saying that nothing good comes from having connections and trust with others, and that people are better off pushing onward alone. At the same time, they urge the singer to realize that he can not run forever. My two cents I suppose. | |
