This song was spelled out by the band in a short interview, It's about a kid with a dream to be a rock star. He also has a no-good, abusive father who tells his son he won't amount to anything, in so few words. The father ends up in jail, and the kid rises up to achieve his dream, without the father's presence in his life. Naturally, the father now wants to be in his son's life, because he's famous and whatnot, and he wants some hand outs. The son basically says that he's rather let his father rot, than help him out. |
