The first verse is a perspective given by man in an attempt to educate women on the natural insticts of men and how to define the different attributes and /or shortcomings which will help define a relationship. The second verse indicates that the nature of women are nuturers and is a warning to women that not all men are compatible with a lasting relatoionship. The third verse is a warning to those who do decide to make a commitment to be aware of outside influence that could and most often can sabotage relationships. The chorus represent a positve way to deal with the failure of relationship and/or the inability to enter into a relationshp with a particular individual. In other words accept that some things arent meant to be. Chalk it up to the heat of the moment, take in stride, move on and never give up. |

It depicts a serious drug addiction while,likely began as recreatinal evolves into a crutch to help him perform and cope with long tours multible performances etc... A severe depressive state, coupled with exhaustion and compounded by any number of types of barbitutes implies the performer has overdosed. The pin prick implies an amphetamine is being injected to get the performer up and able to go on stage as quickly as possible so as not to disappoint his fans. The term comfortably numb implies that he is successful and rich. He realizes the reward for his success is the drugs that keep him functioning so as to continue the fame he worked so hard to achieve publically has become a vicios circle. The reference to the child is the realization that he has no more control and/or less than as a child. However, he can afford not to experience the pain or suffering he endured in his childhood. |
