I think this might be, to some extent, about first or young (possibly adolescent) love. Where you know how you feel about the other person, but are not sure how to express it. I mainly get that from "there's a meat market down the street/ the boys and girls watch each other eat/ when they really want to watch each other sleep". Maybe the bridge, "I went walking...an addiction to hands and feet", is sort of Regina's personal story where she began to discover herself as a person and lover, and when others noticed her as a lover. Basically like Maureen in the musical, Rent, saying "Ever since puberty, everybody stares at me" except in a less obvious fashion. |

I agree with you. This could possibly also be about a girl who to some extent was pressured into doing it for the first time, and she's kind of disappointed in herself and the entire night for multiple reasons |

Maybe it's a about a girl who wants her life to change in all sorts of ways, and her dream is all the things she would do differently than she has in the past. Or all the things she did already and now regrets.
"I cut off my tongue/ you started to kiss me/blood trickled down/don't you ever miss me?"
Maybe she wanted her man to change at one point and regretted "cutting off her tongue" and never telling him. |

I don't know why, but every time I hear this song I think of "Catcher in the Rye" which essentially is about a rich kid who whines about why his life sucks when it really doesn't suck much at all. I guess Regina is kind of mocking a Holden type in this song. |

I love this song!!!! I think that the singer is in love from afar. He has been admiring this girl for most of his adolescence. Of course it's primarily sexual, but this is the kind that most virgins wait for. The kind where it's with someone you really love. I hope that wasn't too cheesy but I didn't know how else to put it. |

I'm guessing it is about someone who missed out on his chance with an old lover or crush. Now that she's single again, he's contemplating whether or not this is a second chance for him |
