Lunatica – EmOcean Lyrics

No comments yet? How come?
This is definitely my favourite Lunatica song. I love the pun in the title, I love the lyrics, and I love the emotions this song manifests in its listeners (or maybe it's just me). When I listen to this song, I imagine myself on an isolated beach at twilight, wading out into the tranquil, cool, velvet waters. Indeed, "I escape from everything I know / As I'm drifting within this flow."
I prefer the duet version with Dätwyler and Hartmann, although both versions are wonderful. The contrast between the softer female voice and the deeper male voice–light and dark–adds more beauty to this already beautiful piece. |

Just a minor correction here, but Fortuyn wasn't a right-wing politician. He was very socially liberal, and hence wasn't a fan of the backward culture of Islam. |

"So, get out, get out, get out of my head"
Pretty much describes my feelings towards this irritating, Backstreet Boys song rip-off. |

Within Temptation – Enter Lyrics

I think this song is based on the poem "The Lady of Shalott" by Lord Alfred Tennyson. It's basically about a woman who has been cursed and will die if she leaves the protection of her ivory tower. I don't know the poem well enough, so I'm not sure about everything. |

Killing ourselves would remove our genes from the gene pool, so (since evolution IS right) it would be detrimental to kill yourself. Just because you don't understand evolution doesn't mean it's not real. |

Before I looked up the lyrics, I guessed it was about suicide, even though it's really beautiful. Looking up the lyrics only makes me more certain of my interpretation. |

Epica – Seif al Din (The Embrace That Smothers Part VI) Lyrics

"La Illah Illallah, Mohammed rasul Allah," in English is "There is no god but Allah, Mohammed is the messenger of Allah."
This song is about militant Islamists and how such religious extremism doesn't belong in this time ("The origin of a dogma, /
Placed in a new millennium, / Vilified demons have been embraced, / And given a warm welcome."), much less does religion to begin with. Great song, and great lyrics, and amazing band!
I love you guys, Epica! <3 |

Non-religious dogmas? How does that work? No non-religious person would kill someone to please their god (mainly because most non-religious people don't have a god). I agree with you though, that terrorism exists in many religious dogmas, especially the monotheistic ones (Christianity and Islam are the most violent). |

Epica – Martyr Of The Free Word Lyrics

@Nemoforevermore: No, it isn't hypocritical because this song is about people who kill others for speaking their mind (or, in particular, since it's about the Middle East theocracies, killing people who disagree with Islam, even if they don't even live in the Middle East). Epica would never go out and hunt someone down for speaking their mind. Mark's been speaking his mind in his past albums ("The Phantom Agony"), so really he's pretty much the opposite of a hypocrite for writing this song.
But anyway, I love this song, and the lyrics are fantastic. I love you, Epica! Once again, another genius song by my favourite band! |

I agree with you. It can't be about supporting ignorance! I mean, how many songs do they have attacking religion for that reason?
Clearly, Mark and Simone have watched too much Terminator, haha. |

Second comment, yeah! I LOVE this song!!! Within Temptation never ceases to amaze me with their music. Although, I didn't particularly love "Where is the Edge", either, like fallenpug said. |

No comments??? I love this song!!!! Anyway, this song is obviously just a silly song (like most of their's are) about someone going to space and doesn't come back for 987 years and by then, all his friends are gone. |

It's about the Earth and animals and how we destroy it. Some people don't like this song because it's nothing like their other ones, but even though it really is different, I still love it, and it's a very beautiful song. Simone's voice is so amazing! |

I'm pretty sure it's cancer, "She got weaker every day." "And she already knew, She was gonna die." Love this song, and it's so sad and romantic. Makes my skin crawl too. |

Oh, even though I don't totally agree with everything this song says, it's hard enough to find awesome music like this, so it's not that big a deal. Epica is amazing, leave it at that, and this song especially :) |
