| The noughts and crosses part must have something to do with penalty shoot-outs. Circles when you score;crosses when you miss. | |

Oh and I also think the chorus: "By your hand is the only end I foresee, I have been dreaming you've been dreaming about me" is being said from the female's perspective, whereas the rest of the song is from the male's. |

He wants to be with this girl but isn't sure if he loves her. I think the line, "she vomits down my rental tux" doesn't relate to her being drunk (although it could because he rented a tux which usually suggests a formal party) but more to her being ill. This could deter the writer from loving her as it may be a terminal illness but he still thinks "fondly" of her because of how close they are. Then "Remember what your heart is for" is the writer reminding himself that you love with your heart, whereas he is may be leading her along because he enjoys the sex. "I lay you down atop the baize" "snookered between the back cushion..." Sounds like a dilemma to me again referring to the previous point. |

"I can't believe I chose the mountains every time you chose the sea... " I think that he's come to realise that they have nothing in common. |
