I love the beginning line "once a label is on something it becomes an 'it', like it's no longer alive" - makes me think of how more and more people get classified and labeled, i.e. lately 'bipolar' seems to be the 'in thing'. I'm afraid it'll get worse in the future and we will all have chips under our thumbs disclosing our labeled selves - 'unfit for XXX, credit rating XXX', etc." Also, I think the man's internal conflict (or at least that's what I consider it to be i.e. lyrics written in parentheses) are especially interesting: "Baby's got the bed sheet that was under you, when your time and life expires; keeps it in the closet, keeps it to herself; She should throw the damn thing out, Why should you continue to shake things off, Would you write things on the wall? It can make it hard". what do you guys think about it? |
