A song about confronting the dark side we all have inside us ("face your demons"). At some points it sounds a bit like the concept of the shadow in Jungian thinking - the repressed (negative) side of our personality that we reject or ignore ("I represent what you deny"). There is a duality in the shadow since it can both set you free and destroy you if it's given free rein ("Oh you don´t know what I could do for you / Or what I could put you through"). The message seems to be that you should confront yourself with the dark aspects of your identity instead of running away from them because of fear. |

| To me this song is about being overwhelmed by love and giving in to it. I really like the use of water metaphors and religious imagery because it describes the all-consuming feeling of love perfectly. A very haunting song. | |
