"You have a way of coming easily to me"..She can't help but like this guy. "And when you take You take the very best of me" .. when he is nice, it's shows her very best side. "So I start a fight 'Cause I need to feel something".. She needs to feel some sort of emotion in their relationship and starting a fight is the only way. "And you do what you want 'Cause I'm not what you wanted"...this line shows her anger and how she knows she is not what he wants. "Oh, what a shame What a rainy ending given to a perfect day".. This shows that they were perfect and she was very happy until she began to see his real side. "Just walk away No use in defending words That you will never say".. This shows that he won't be able to defend himself and say 'oh i really did mean all i said like i love you etc..' "And now that I'm sitting here Thinking it through I've never been anywhere cold as you".. When she's sitting thinking it all through she begins to realise how mean this guy really is. "You put walls and paint them all a shade of gray And I stood there loving you And washed them all away"... he blocked her out and didn't tell her what she meant to him but she just didn't see that/ forgot about it and too in love to see his nasty side. "And you come away with a great little story Of a mess of a dreamer With the nerve to adore you".. he will have a great story out of all of this to tell all his friends off how he played her. "You never did give a damn thing, honey But I cried, cried for you".. this tells that he never cared but she always did and cried over him alot. "And I know you wouldn't have told nobody If I died, died for you Died for you".. She would have done anything for him but he would never tell anyone that! I love this song and EVERY line tells of my EXACT situation right now and it sucks :( |

For me this song is about wanting someone who you want to believe you can have but in reality you can't. It's about wanting someone that you know you can't have but you're caught up in them and just don't know why. When they are close to you, you feel anxious or kinda getting butterflies? You dream about this person and want them to say they want to be with you but in reality, they don't. Basically, it's about wanted someone, wanting to believe they want to be with you too but know they don't. |

I get from this song that she saw him with another girl and missunderstood the situation which caused tham to fight so she just walked away in the middle of their fight ignoring what he was saying because she was so mad. She feels like she has had enough and wants to give up on him but then looks at things more closely. She tells him to leave but wants him to see passed that and stand outside her window throwing pebbles saying he loves her. "Me and my stupid pride are sitting here alone going through the photographs, staring at the phone" .. This line says that how she got the wrong idea about the other girl so was left sitting alone with no one else to blame but herself and how shes waiting for him to call her. Shes sitting alone thionking of what eac of them said to each other when they were fighting, and how she misread everything. "I don't need you, but I do, I do, I do"... she wants to believe she doesn't need him but does. In the last verse shes thinking back of a certain moment in their relationship. She wonders if this other girl really was worth all this fighting and finally admits she does in fact need him! |
