I know I'm not the only person who has thought of this. Is anyone pulling a Doctor Who motif out of this? I doubt that is what Brian intended to do (then again, maybe he would) but every down to "The Box I choose" "Sucker love I always find, Someone to bruise and leave behind" and "All alone in space and time There's nothing here but what here's here's mine" seems to line up. I know it's silly, but it made me giggle. |

I am almost certain that the motif behind this song is related to sex with no strings attached. There are a few obvious lines such as "I'm in a state of mind/which makes me blind/for the fact that I'm a man" that hint at it. I also think that the phrase 'Liquid words' is a metaphor for sweat while the 'stairs' are their bodies. At the bridge of the song we begin to see that there really is no emotional attachment behind our protagonist (The Timekiller...lol) and the object of his infatuation ("In my heart there's no place for you/in my mind there's no space for you) and really all he was looking for was a way to escape his own mind for a good time...a time killer. Though this wasn't my original interpretation, I'm pretty sure it was the authors. |
