Thrice – Words in The Water Lyrics 14 years ago
Nice interpretation. I was trying to figure out which book he was referencing too as it said:

"They were beautiful and dread, I reached for them and fed on each phrase. They were honey on my lips, then a bitter twist in my side".

It makes sense, the way the law was made, intended for God and His people to become one again through the work of the law. But like you said, the more he tries to do it he realizes that he will die as in:

"I knew they'd lay me in my grave 'Is there no one who could save me?' I cried"

Then Christ comes and takes the weight of the law off of him and now see's in the darkness. What was once impossible for man alone is now possible through Christ's righteousness that was given to us through the cross. This song is seriously deep, the more I read the lyrics the more I realize that my works alone will lead me to the grave, and that only Christ's work which satisfied God's wrath will allow me to enter eternity. Grace....it's all grace.

Thanks for the translation!

Red – Let It Burn Lyrics 15 years ago
It's obvious that the metaphor for what's burning down is the relationship.

The song starts out with someone saying that they've seen everything slowly crash. It then asks if that other person ever cared, and states that they've been deceived (possibly lies, cheating, disloyalty etc.) and even asks "where are you now" as posing to either say "look where you're at" or "where are you even at?"

Then the chorus is asking the other person how long they're going to endure the pain of the relationship, how they run and hide from the problem, and essentially saying that all they're doing is burning down the relationship.

It continues to show how it's just going nowhere but down, asking if the best thing to do is burn it all down and asking if that other person is still there or alive(?)

The bridge I think is finally asking if they're going to wait until it's all burned down, if they are going to say or do something until it's all burned down.

Then, my favorite part, it asks if they will love again, will they be strong, when the relationship has crashed. Also asking if once it's over, will it really be over or will they continue to come back.

In the end I feel like it's asking the other person how long will they hold on to it, and telling them to just let it go and let it burn.

That's what's been going on in my head since i've listened to it. Though I still feel like I need to listen to it more to get a clear picture of the different meanings and viewpoints.

Underoath – Illuminator Lyrics 15 years ago
If you read the lyrics, it talks about being in the empty room first. This relates to the ending of the lyrics where he says "I tore out my lying eyes, so they locked me up". It seems like he changes his mind, which makes sense with "how do i know what side im on" as he was once with them and now breaking from them which causes them to throw him in their empty dark room of torture. You can also see the others sayig "Come on man I swear you can do this" and him responding with "I break free from this room they built for me"

If you ask me, I think he's speaking out against any kinds of an illuminati. Underoath never throws something out there that doesn't seem to fit with who they are, but more or so to expose something else we might have missed.

I can relate with the lyrics in saying that i've been pouring out into this "society" that's full of lies & manipulation, yet they cheer me on to staying with them. This is where I see Spencer talk about breaking free from the room where they throw you into, or in the form, where they "hunt me down" or just attack me until I decide to come back to them. But he insists "i don't belong here". It speaks so much truth to me, that being part of a group that is all about "works" and having their own "new world order" is just a lie. To break free, seek truth & freedom. So i wouldn't say they are speaking necessarily into the actual illuminati, but any form that looks like it.
