I just figured it out - 'I got no eyelids' means his eyes are wide open, he can't close them, so he's staring at her bug-eyed, because she's attractive despite being a train wreck. 'I've got no eyelids (can't stop staring at you) though sweet Ella loves me so (despite the fact that I have a girlfriend).
