Regardless of what the song is about to its core, it bears a striking resemblance to the song "I Go to Sleep" by the Kinks, but particularly more to the cover the Pretenders did. There may not be any connection and though the focus of this song is less on love and more on the haunting, I still found the music style of the Pretender's version to be more or less similar in effect to this song. Just thought I'd throw that out there. These guys are wonderful and they always seem to allude to other works of art or poetry and song. |
