Maybe it's about trying to find love, or falling in love with someone. Some parts make me think that. He's waiting for his moment to fall in love, find true love, he wants someone who loves him back, he wants it to be the kind of love you see in the movies: Perfect. Ideal. Maybe his dream is to form a family. He thinks it's time, or it'll be too late if he keeps waiting. Everywhere he goes, he sees happy families, so he starts fantasizing. He's tumbling, spiralling down...growing old, eventually to die and be buried beneath the ground. He feels closer to the ground...closer to death. He continues saying that when we fall in love, we are falling in love with ourselves because we want our partner to be perfect. To have the perfect eyes, smile, hair, physical and emotional attributes: we are fashioning them the way we want them to be, made them in the image of their imagination. Then he realizes that was not a good thing. The person he always wished for, is not what he really wants. He doesn't need someone perfect, just someone to love him back. So things get complicated, they split, etc...they slip through his fingers. Then he goes saying that when he was younger all he cared about were his ambitions....being famous, being a winner, etc. All egotistical things, and forgot about his true happiness. Having a family, procreating, enjoying life with loved ones, not being alone. |
