| Disturbed – I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For (U2 cover) Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Its not my favorite album or song, but I can't say I disliked listening to it :P. There are a few songs by U2 I think could have sounded a little more interesting: "Acrobat" (kinda like a FTW type of song), "Seconds", "Sunday Bloody Sunday" (about religious tensions), "One" (would sound interesting if it was more heavy), or "Like a Song". All in all David's voice still sounds epic and the mood kind of makes me think they are looking through from the past and towards to future (like on the DOD). |

As mentioned above, Draiman's official meaning was that of the loss of a great love. My personal interpretation is if you have ever fallen in love with someone in your group of friends. Although you feel deep affection for that person, for some reason no one ever realizes it ("Though no evidence was ever found of it...") or it could be the case that they already have someone. You choose to conceal the way you feel to avoid negative effects within the group ("I try to hide from the holy sound of it..."). Although you see the writing on the wall you can't love them less for not having a mutual attraction(its not like they feel that way just to spite you). On top of that is the constant reminder of what will never be because you still have that friend relationship with them and everyone else . There is always that fear that your feelings will be discovered and alienate you from them and those important to you especially if they have a strong opposition to the truth that is revealed ("Judgement for the immortal sin that had enveloped me completely", "Afraid they'll hear me, They don't fear me"). In the end the only way to help yourself is to keep some distance from that which is causing you pain. You may be clinging to the friendship as an "asylum" in that you can still be around this person , but you no longer associate being with your group of friends as the simple joy of being with others ("Don't want to live in asylum, I'll live a lie..."). Just an interpretation based on my experiences... I always have to listen to The Warrior after hearing this song -_-... |
