I found this song on a cd called Masters of Horror, so I thought of it as something that would be in a horror movie. This girl is trying to be impervious to the fact that her ex-boyfriend is haunting her. He's saying that he'll never leave her like he did before, and he'll never let her go. But like before, she doesn't want him around. I really like this song. Its one the best songs on Masters of Horror. |

"weep little lion man, you're not as brave as you were at the start" MI-when you were a baby you were much more carefree, and you didn't have all of the worries and fears that you have now. "rate yourself and rape yourself, take all the courage you have left wasted on fixing all the problems that you made in your own head" MI-you're worried about the way you look or seem to other people, and tearing yourself down for what you're not. You're picking at your self for things that aren't even wrong. "but it was not your fault but mine and it was your heart on the line" MI-All along it was my fault. When I thought it was about me, I was hurting you more than I was being harmed. "i really fucked it up this time didn't I, my dear?" MI-I messed up, didn't I? "tremble for yourself, my man, you know that you have seen this all before" MI-You know what's going on because you've gone through it before-maybe relationship problems. Basically I believe this is a father saying, "It was all my fault, not yours, so don't blame yourself," to his son. So the dad did something wrong, and the son is hurting from it. Maybe the man was a criminal, and now the son is afraid he'll end up like the father, which is making him very overly-cautious and ruining his life. I don't know, that's just my interpretation. |

This song is really hard to interpret because you can interpret so much!!! I like that a lot about Breaking Benjamin's songs because they leave a lot up to the imagination so pretty much anyone can relate to them, which means there are a lot of different opinions of what this song is about. She's possibly involved with two different men, and this man doesn't care as long as his love is reciprocated. She doesn't seem to care much for him, but he's hoping that in the end she will love him, or at least feel something for him. My second interpretation could be someone (let's call him Dave) who likes someone else (Sue), but she does not return his love, and Dave is trying to get through to Sue, but then it hurts to be around her because she doesn't like him back. I don't know the actual meaning, those are just my interpretations. |

Without looking at the other comments so they don't influence my opinion (they usually end up doing that in some way or another) I think the dude has a crush on a girl, and he wants to make it into her diary. Basically, he wants to stand out to her so she at least thinks about him. "Something's getting in the way," might be another guy, especially since she says, "this love is the last time." |
