This, I feel she is addressing to her husband Carey. The beginning verse talks about the mistakes she's made in the past with him ( during the separation ) and that it was hard to go through and recover from. " dug my way out, blood and fire ". The chorus is pretty self-explanitory, that he ( Carey ) is too critical of himself or puts the blame on himself for a lot of things. She's reassuring him that he really is, fuckin perfect for her. In the verse that starts with: "You're fuckin' perfect to me The world stares while I swallow the fear" I THINK ( not sure ) she is referring to herself trying to hide negative emotions. The song as a whole reminds me of something she said during an interview; " you took my heart and made it bigger. " [ about Carey ] One of my favorites of her's, but that doesn't say too much because I'm absolutely in love with everything she creates ;P |
