I swear, this is probably one of the only songs that comes close to putting a tear in my eye. The lyrics are powerful. I think it's possible that two are breaking up or dying together or something and the one's life is flashing before his eyes as he is dying and suddenly realized what life's all about (like the rest of the album.) Though I've got to say, the best part about the song is the horns at about 4:05. Something about it is just so striking... This band is genius! <_< Na na na na na... |

The only thing I don't buy about that is the comparison of religious figure, or in some sense, God, to the 'blond,' being an possibly attractive, but in fact unintelligent figure, whereas the religious figures are trying to send a completely different message, whatever it may be. To compare 'the magazine' with the bible, I think, is a bad metaphor. The authors of 'the magazine' are aware that they're 'force feeding sh**', but preachers of the words of the Bible are doings so based on honest faith. Usually. I just don't think the Bible should be compared to a tabloid. There's a difference in intentions there :) Good interpreting eye, though. Quite eye-opening |

| Streetlight Manifesto – Would You Be Impressed? Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I don't really think this song is proclaiming atheism or anything. I think it's more showing out attitudes toward life and the afterlife. We never really fear it until we're confronted with it. We do whatever we want in life while we don't fear death, but when it's time to 'pray and make amends before the judgement day', we suddenly fear consequences, so we seek blaming other peoples actions for our faults. | |
