| Sia – Soon We'll Be Found Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I can definitely feel the exhaustion in this song. They're both tired from a long, drawn out fight. There's nothing left to be done but sleep. It definitely has hope that in the morning after a long rest, they're able to move on, or at least talk about the issues that had them fighting in the first place.. | |

| Oh and when someone's trolling causes someone else to "give up" I think they are horrible people. :I | |

| There's no need to troll artslut. What's your take on the song then? | |

Sorry but artslut and JRKNOWSALL never actually gave their opinion on the song. I might be totally wrong (lol sarcasm) but when they're bashing someone's well thought out opinion I think that one) it's trolling two) they're wrong. Themaestroapprentice called them nitwits because (and understand this): they were bashing another user for trying to thoroughly analyse the lyrics of the song and have not attempted to add in the so called "other perspectives".. Even if artslut disagreed with atomicbread (and I happen to /like/ their analysis because it works) they could have as /easily/ added their own opinion and disregarded atomicbread's opinion. |

| Tegan and Sara – Walking with a Ghost Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I think that the ghost aspect can refer a few things really. It may refer to the fact that even before a couple has broken up, the other partner had become a ghost. They're there but not really. Then comes the moment they split up and now the partner really has become a ghost-hey've moved on and all they've left behind are the memories. The singer has this mantra going on in the song to convince herself that this "ghost" is out of her mind, and is proclaiming it to the world, and is insisting that the ghost-the person who dumped them (especially if they run in the same circles), the ghost of the past, and when or if they do meet the person asking the ghost of the past to not insist on dredging up their past with this person. | |

I think about the only reason why I like the song is that she's willing to admit the darker side of human nature. We're judgmental. We will take a chance to have a go at our enemies. We insult. We fight... We're not pleasant creatures. People tend to forget that having these feelings is not what is wrong or evil or "sinful" but it's what you do after it. If you let it rule your life, or fester like some unopened wound then it is a problem. Then going further, the fact that she says its shameful means she knows that those kind of feelings are something that's not she should be feeling. It's sort of like when those kind of thoughts happen or want to take root in our brain, having to fight to keep them away. If anything it shows how hard that is. We're not built that way at all. I remember reading a short story about a woman on her deathbed who had so many good memories and the one thing she couldn't forget was the one who jaded her.. That's what this song reminds me of. |

@McLurker: In respect to this song it's not meant to be the standard of morality at all. The song is trying to encompass the feelings of someone who hates their boyfriend's ex. From what I gathered from this song, it seemed that both were going after the same guy and the other girl won out. So you've got someone like Hayley who is vilifying their boyfriend's ex to possibly an exaggerated degree because their pride is hurt, they want to rub it in the ex's face, while saying they don't want to brag they really are,...Unless you've got the personality that never vilifies anyone including your "enemies"... It's basically a song about human nature. No offense but really? Everyone, even Christians like myself, either find ourselves thinking like that, or have to fight to think in a different way... @Missimpossible: I had not realized you were the authority of "Christian sentiment" Oh dear... you're being that girl..it's not so much as a song that one would want to live their life by. It's telling of feelings that are unforgiving and judgmental. I can see why you are privy to insults and lauding moral superiority... |
