I think this song is about revolting against a system designed to rob you of your happiness and prosperity. A few exerpts that may have a deeper meaning I found: These are our lives But did they ever even matter? Are we worth remembering? (What did you really accomplish with all of your lifes hard work) These machines feed on the tears of broken lives and dying dreams (People work hard because they believe in the American Dream. If they knew that the deck was stacked against them, they wouldn't participate.) We sell ourselves everyday (comparing our "work" to slavery) Tip the scales makes me think of unbalance. As in an unfair advantage given to a class of people. This means that no matter how hard you work at it, you will only be as good as you were when you were born. The rest of the song is pretty straght forward. Thorwing wrenches in the gears could be a call for revolution. Join the_cold_revolution |

I think this song doesn't have to be a break up. It could be about losing anyone. A brother, sister, mother, father, son, etc. It could be about a fight, maybe one that was never able to be made up because the other person died. until we meet again (2 times) seems cryptic like death with that much passion. boiling blood is anger, but not directed at a person. angry about not being able to make things right. join the_cold_revolution rise against rocks |

Holy shit! why does RA have so many 14 yr old fans? I mean, I know the music is 100% bad ass, but the message is so easily misconstrued(no offense, but I was stupid as hell when I was 14). This is pretty clear people. This is about AMERICA! This is about taking the power back. . . We are in the midst of great turmoil and stress. Awsome song. Def about the war. "far away from home","long forgotten son" -soldiers not present in the media anymore, "work to fix the work youve undone" -restoring a place you destroyed. If not, it could be about the children of the most politically corrupt generation of all time. Like because of all our parents greed or party politics, they elected a bunch of morons that robbed us every given opportunity. Hard to fit this with the first verse though. |

I think this song is about drugs, but more to the point, drug abuse and addiction. A few examples: Do you spend your days counting the hours you're awake? And when night covers the sky you find yourself doing the same //drug addicts are always biding their time until their next fix There's a burden you've been bearing in spite of all your prayers There's a light turned off inside your heart, can you remember what it's like to care? //the only thing drug addicts care about is getting high Knees are weak, hands are shaking, I can't breathe So give me the drug, keep me alive Give me what's left of my life Don't let me go //I want to have the drugs and your love. Love, no matter how great will not beat addiction. The addict, not being themselves, will always rationalize drug use over hurting loved ones, but realize it is tearing their family apart. The are still helpless at this point. The trail of crumbs you left somehow got lost along the way If you never meant to leave, then you only had to stay //I know you tried to help and given up on me, because I let you down. But the memories that haunt us are cherished just the same As the ones that bring us closer to the sky, no matter how grey Yet I fall, through these clouds, reaching, screaming Give me the drug, keep me alive //I still love you and remember how things used to be, but I will always go back to the drugs.
