this song, i believe, is about an actual relationship, one that had great potential but that potential was never realized because it ended prematurely. not necessarily that she had another man or he had another woman but maybe she hesitated and didnt want to commit to him, now the chance is gone. another interpretation, which i can relate to, could be that the guy was emotionally unavailable. initially he made it seem that he was available and ready to b in a serious, committed relationship but once the relationship started to get really deep and real feelings became involved he got cold feet and backed out. "can u tell me, how can one miss what shez never had"- if this happens one must assume that the guy probly nevr really loved u to begin with so therefore u nevr really "had him" so the relationship has ended. and although they were happy at one point, the relationship has disintegrated so it's as if it were all a dream..."what happened to us, we were almost there..." i miss the love that was almost there... | |
