Black Sabbath – Megalomania Lyrics 14 years ago
"How could this poison be the dream of my soul?" is obviously a drug reference.

MGMT – Art Is Everywhere Lyrics 15 years ago
Haha! This is how you use your expanded imagination due to substances in a lovely way. The lyrics are to me very playful and childish (in a good way), and the video is pretty freaky/colorful. Just how it should be, and I bet kids love it.

MGMT – 4th Dimensional Transition Lyrics 15 years ago
Excuse me if I misunderstood you, but can you please tell me how a band writes a song like 'Metanoia' without psychedelic drugs? It's not possible. Truly.

The Verve – Beautiful Mind Lyrics 15 years ago
This is my exact definition of how acid sounds like. It's like a psychic force roaming around, being unable to explain. Kind of like a space travel, in some ways.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Burning of the Midnight Lamp Lyrics 15 years ago
I was listening to this song for the first time under the influence of psychedelica. It's now permanently burned into my corpus callosum. I just saw Jimi as an oracle at the part where he solos and accompanies the screaming guitar with "lonely, lonely, lonely". It's truly an amazing part.

Deerhunter – He Would Have Laughed Lyrics 15 years ago
I didn't actually know this song was dedicated to Jay until I saw this. Now the lyrics suddenly make sense. A sad story.

Tame Impala – The Bold Arrow of Time Lyrics 15 years ago
"The arrow of time" is a concept of time travel, I think. I see obvious references to the very same arrow which is illustrated in the Donnie Darko movie.

MGMT – Metanoia Lyrics 15 years ago
I love how they use their imagination with the lyrics, it makes the song even more unique. It already is because of the totally wicked structure. I'd say this song is the perfect soundtrack for a spiritual acid travel.

Black Sabbath – Into The Void Lyrics 15 years ago
I think Kyuss also covered this song.

Anyhow, I somehow sense that the lyrics are acid influenced. I recognize the feeling of wanting to be set free from everything but yourself which Ozzy describes when singing about the freedom fighters being sent to another planet.
