I'm a literature student, and couldn't help but see, 'You left your flowers in the backseat of my car,' as a clever metaphor - deflowering = losing virginity. :P My interpretation is that this song refers to a young couple in their teens or very early twenties. The relationship is on the rocks, but it makes it harder because they think they love each other and can't move on despite the fact they are not right for each other in the long term. Nice song. |
