I definitely think this song addresses both morals and politics. I am probably waaay off, but here's how I interpreted this verse: "There’s a darkness upon you that’s flooded in light" -As far as government, pharmaceutical companies, and politics go I feel like we are being misled and very harmful and bad things are happening, yet they are being covered up to look like they are doing us good. (War, pills/vaccinations, political agendas, the list goes on....) "In the fine print they tell you what’s wrong and what's right" -We are constantly being told what to believe, whether something is good or not good, fed lies, etc. Perhaps this lyric is related to religion as well. "And it flies by day and it flies by night" -These things continue to occur day after day "And I’m frightened by those who don’t see it" -How can change come about if people don't see the truth? Ignorance is harmful, knowledge is power. Sorry so vague, but I would have to go in extreme depth to explain myself if you don't know what I'm getting at. Maybe somebody else can clarify what I wrote, or add/modify to my interpretation. |
