| James – One of the Three Lyrics | 5 years ago |
| As others have written, seems to be a song to Christ, lamenting what has happened in His name, acknowledging his good intentions, but that he let fate envelope him. | |
| Angus and Julia Stone – Big Jet Plane Lyrics | 9 years ago |
| Mild annoyance. Daisies have no fragrance. But still a great song, but just wish they had pulled off the rhyme a different way. | |
| Kongos – Come With Me Now Lyrics | 9 years ago |

Love this song. Perhaps I am shallow (or revealing too much of myself) but felt like a guy self conscious in a party scene and life in general. Everyone else is loose and partying and coupling up and enjoying life, but he is lost in his own head and cannot connect. I tried to sell my soul last night but he would not take a bite I think with my heart and I move with my head I open my mouth and it's something I've read I stood at this door before, I'm told But a part of me knows that I'm growing too old And the lyrics are pleading for someone to join him, but no takers. |

| @[Christy32080:10364] I agree with your comment. pedantic note: "then she did a complete 360.." should be 180. Just saying. | |
| Glass Animals – Gooey Lyrics | 10 years ago |
| I kind of picture this being a young father, singing to his baby. | |
| Marian Hill – One Time Lyrics | 10 years ago |
| Nice, clean simple song. Great sound. Lyrics are pretty self-evident. | |
| Coconut Records – West Coast Lyrics | 10 years ago |
| She left, he misses her. She may have died, but more likely left. Great song. | |

Feel pedantic, but kind of annoys me that he uses: She smelled of daisies, smelled of daisies She drive me crazy, drive me crazy Daisies don't have any fragrance. Looking for a rhyme, I get it, but still, had to be another way to do it. |

| Angus and Julia Stone – Big Jet Plane Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| Case can be made, but the general tone of the song seems very gentle and loving. Not that having a large penis is excludes tender thoughts but seems more about cuddling and caressing her and "taking her away from harm" and the plane is a metaphor that they can get far away together. | |
| Harry Chapin – Cat's in the Cradle Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| Yep. Pretty straight forward but still quite poignant and sad. Always gets me a bit teary. And think about it with my daughter. | |
| The Devil Makes Three – Graveyard Lyrics | 11 years ago |

This seems to be about addiction, presumably to alcohol. Starts off having a good time but ends up alone, isolated and demoralized. Shaking like a leaf could be shaking in general fear or the shakes long time alcoholics get. Great song. |

| World Party – Hawaiian Island World Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| Great song. Seems set in the Midwest, with economic blight biting at the heels of the people. People getting more desperate and, at times, more violent. Hawaiian Island World is an escapist place they can imagine or being fed to them on the TV. | |
| Lloyd Cole – Butterfly Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| This is one of my favorite songs, incredibly match lyrics and mood. The lyrics seem pretty straight forward. The guy falls for a seemingly innocent woman who transforms to a sexually charged person/addict due to her inner pain and later leaves or abandons him for her sexual exploration, probably in a sad, compulsive way. | |
| Moby – Extreme Ways Lyrics | 12 years ago |

I agree with this. But i would argue with an emphasis on sexual addiction. This is what resonates with me: I've seen so much in so many places So many heartaches, so many faces So many dirty things You couldn't believe I would stand in line for this It's always good in life for this The addictive nature is that he seems to have relished it at one point, now wants to stop but cannot seem to. And then things fall apart. |

| Worm Is Green – You're Too Late Satan Lyrics | 12 years ago |

While the above description sounds pretty good, I view this song (possibly) being about addiction. The narrator has turned away from their addiction and, the addiction personified as the devil, comes back. She and her soul are no longer there for the addiction, she does not feel the pull any more. So it is a farewell to her addiction since she escaped from its grasp. |
