Thanks - it's an interesting idea. 'Sweet songs never last.....' I think there are a number of things involved. Literally the family couldn't afford a decent radio because all the money was going into the hole in Sam's arm. But also the sweet and innocent songs of youth couldn't be sung in this house because the whole family was fractured or broken because of Sam's habit. |
