Whether or not this is the intended meaning of the song, it can definitely be applied. I can relate to this interpretation that you've given so well that I am grateful I read these comments and found your take on it. "you have to be willing to give it all up in order to get it all back"...that's worded amazingly. Going even further with it, Thom talks about "flying to the side" so "no one gets hurt." This could be the avoidance of giving something up, the avoidance of flying the straight path that's intended for us, just for the appeasement of current company. In short...this interpretation of the song stuck out to me, and I agree. |
