It's about the book Lord of the Flies. Or it's using the book for a euphenism for something. Mayeb a fight with the lyricist? I mean pretty much every line points to it. Choir boys, liars, hanging objects on hips (piggy's glasses on Jack's pants), and weren't they only on the island for some 26 days? I dunno, I read that book over the summer and as it turns out my summer session teacher would regualarly teach that book so she would talk me through questions and discuss it with me. I had also, ironically, just rediscovered this band and this song and I was amazed at the similarities. Either way, I love this song! |

So I'm pretty positive this song is about war and a troop's thoughts being sprung into the battle field, killing and fighting. It's actually a very sad song especially; Looking through my lens I see him looking back at me We both have no choice Its our destiny Cause we both came to fight And now we live in fear Life will be cut short Death is creeping near (About him getting ready to kill another man, on the otherside. Thinking about how he knows on the inside, both of them don't want to, but they have to since it's been piled in both of their brains that if one doesn't shoot, the other will. Whichever one gets killed, or if they both get killed I'm sure is up for interpretation.) Or you never know this could all be a metaphor for something deeper! |
