| I think its about a girl who's friend was really depressed and cutting herself. The other girl is really worried but she never stops her friend and her friend eventually commits suicide. Then the girl thinks she should have done more and feels really guilty and she starts cutting herself. I think "Called her over and asked her if she was improving she said she feels fine its wonderful wonderful here" is that her friend started taking medication and she convinces people that everythings good when she really isn't getting better. Also, the poison coursing through her veins could be medication, or it could be blood, seen as a curse because she wants to die. I love how she describes blood as "strawberry gashes" it makes it seem pretty and ugly at the same time...idk what I mean...I love this song. | |

I think this song is sort of about Jesus and Judas and someone not being themself at the same time. For the religious intrepetation, Dcrenshaw27's comment pretty much says it all. Also there's the intreptation that someone does some things that they didn't want to do or went against their morals(maybe they betrayed the person singing the song?) and tried to be someone else to get ahead. However, they "pray to God" and try to justify what they've done, and eventually they get what they deserve. There's another person who wasn't paid attention to at first, because he didn't want to do what someone else did, but eventually he becomes popular and he's saying to just be yourself, live your life, "Let it rock". I think the song is sort of showing how Judas betraying Jesus out of greed is sort of similiar to something that could happen in the modern world, like someone might betray their friend to help them become popular, because it will get them fame and money. I don't like Lil Wayne's part, but I don't think it ruins the song. I think it's supposed to be the people who are living a lie, he's so happy because he's got his hoes and car, but in the end it doesn't help[ |

So its about her sister. When I first heard it I saw it being different. I imagined it being that some little kids are playing at a playground. One girl accidentallypushes her friend and her friend falls. When she doesn't get up someone goes and gets their parents. The little girl had hit her head and she dies. The other girl tries to shut it out instead of blaming herself. This is where the song starts. " Playrground school bell rings again. Rainclouds come to play, again. Has no one told you she's not breathing?" She's at school, still, and rainclouds are there. Literally in that it still rains like normal, and also representing peoples sadness. People try to tell her the girl is dead as she tries not to listen. "Hello, I'm your mind, giving you someone to talk to..." She's in shock, instead of facing the real world her mind becomes someone else she can talk to. "If I smile and don't believe, Soon I know I'll wake from this dream/Don't try to fix me I'm not broken" She smiles like normal and pretends its just a dream, she doesn't believe any of it. People should stop asking her if she's ok. She's perfectly fine, because nothing happened. "Hello, I'm the lie living for you so you can hide...don't cry..." She starts to realize she's lying to herself, and her mind becomes the lie, telling her to let it continue, and not to cry or even think about it. "Suddenly I know I'm not sleeping. Hello...I'm still here, all that's left of yesterday..." She has to realize what happened, and knows she's not dreaming, its real. But that voice is still there in her head, someone to talk to, some fragment of yesterday. |

Ya what everyone else has said I sort of agree with. I think its a girl who's in a relationship with a guy who only like her looks and doesn't care about her personality. She's starting to realize it but she's not sure. She spends more and more time staring in the mirror and she starts to think maybe its a different person on the other side of the mirror. She thinks that maybe her soul is on the other side of the mirror, maybe she's just a reflection for people to look at, nothing more that a pretty face.She feels like she's falling apart, and can't put herself back together. She thinks she doesn't matter at all, and reaching out to the parts of herself only cuts her. She tries to kill her other self in hopes that it will make her more real by smashing the mirror. She bleeds when she touches the sharp pieces and doesn't try to stop it. She nearly bleeds to death but then somehow she decides to keep breathing, or maybe her parents come and call the hospital in time or something. People tell her that she's sick(she tried to kill herself) and that everyone is there for her, it will all be fine when she gets better. She tries to find her soul or to believe them, but she can't help thinking that her reflection still has her soul. She wonders if her family and boyfriend love her for who she is or only like her pretty face, but she's still confused as to whether the real her is actually in the mirror or not. To me the ending makes it sound like she does commit suicide but it leaves it sort of open. It could be saying that she starts really living and breathes no more as the person she used to be. |

Yes the chorus does sound kind of like Sunday Bloody Sunday but I don't see how they rip off Sailor by IAMX. The lyrics aren't at all the same. The tune is very similar but its a popular melody Sailor isn't the only song with a verse that sounds like that. For the meaning of the song I agree with silentstranger. However, I think the "The time goes by and sets the stage" part was saying that they knew their lines and acted their age but they were really just acting, not actually living. Also "Drawn out like circles trailing off the pavement" I think it was the circles of headlights trailing off the pavement, but I'm not sure why it says "like" then. I think the next lines mean the girls stand out in the bright headlights, and it feels like they've been caught almost, but they won't stop, only because they feel like they need to fill in the void and don't know how else to. |

| I think this song is about the death of a lover or a family member, as a lot of people have already said. Also, I think songs are open to interpretation so people don't have to have it mean to them what the artist intended when they wrote it. However, this was written by Ben Moody so I think it's safe to say this is not about Amy's sister. I would think this is definetly about a death, had I not seen an mmv(amv means it is using anime, not manga) with this song in it. So, if you've read the manga Godchild by Kaori Yuki, there is an elusive video on YouTube called "Godchild - All of me". I say elusive because it only sometimes shows up when you search for it. Anyway, the video uses this song and it captures the emotion in volume 6 perfectly. So, the song could also be about someone who did everything to help their lover and then the other person leaves them or betrays them, but that person feels like they still belong to their former lover and they cant let go. | |

First of all, I don't think its about God. This song is very beautiful. One of the best songs I know that's sort of about hope and believing in each other. Pretty self explanatory, but here's what I'm pretty sure its about: this girl named Amy is feeling sad and angry, and she can't find the beauty in anything as she watches other people do. Then a friend or someone talks to her and gives her advice, and she eventually she changes and sees all the love and beauty. I think the song is just saying that we can help other people, we can see love and beauty and appreciate this world. Not my usual type of song(I prefer red stars, video kid, happy birthday, and holiday by the birthday massacre) but I really like this song. |

It seems that a lot of his songs mention insomnia. I think I read that he has insomnia, so guess that makes sense. I'm pretty sure this is about him trying to get over the death of his girlfriend or wife, maybe. This song reminds me a bit of The Technicolour Phase...I think he's supposed to be dead in that song though. Anyway, some interpretations: The stars lean down to kiss you (Maybe she's in the sky or something?) Pour me a heavy dose of atmosphere (He doesn't feel like eating or drinking and he just soaks the mood of where he is) I'd send a postcard to you dear (He would send a post card to her. He would like to have some connection but he can't) I'll find repose in new ways Though I haven't slept in two days Because cold nostalgia chills me to the bone. But drenched in vanilla twilight I'll sit on the front porch all night Waist-deep in thought because when I think of you I don't feel so alone. (Not sleeping-his insomnia. He feels almost like he's drowning in thought because all he can do is relive memories of her. This whole verse-maybe the whole song actually-seems sort of dreamlike. Because of the vanilla twilight and waist deep thought and so on) As many times as I blink I'll think of you tonight. (He sees her behind his eyelids) To me the second-last part(violet eyes, heavy wings, ect.) Seems like he is dreaming. It would be his eyes and wings. In his dream something happens so he moves on and starts feeling okay, and then goes to some fantastic dream world, but still remembers her. When he wakes up, he wishes she was there, and then realizes he needs to move on with his life while still remembering her. Nothing says he does move on after his dream, but what I just typed is the picture the music at the end gives me. |

Well, I think it might just be about finding the happiness in things that are unpleasant, or kind of making the best of things. I agree with the people who commented before me. This song is written so it could be about a relationship, but I don't think it is. It's just saying that it really is too bad if everything good has already passed. The first verse sort of speaks for itself. "Deadlight holiday" Is saying that a holiday(or in other words life) was supposed to be sunny and fun, but now it is gloomy and dark. "Killing time to make us stay" Says we have nothing left to do on this holiday, so we'll just kill time and try to stay. "Hollow as the promises of yesterday" Yesterday things were good, but they were promised to get better, and now life is as hollow as our expectations. "On and on the music plays Memories in paraphrase" The music continues playing, as we keep living, but there's nothing left so we just look at old memories instead. I thinly the paraphrase just means we keep looking them over, thinking them, saying them. "Falling past my window like The morning rain" I think is saying that its rainy now, and as the rain falls down she can only think of what she had before. The 2nd verse I'm pretty sure is basically saying this: we spend all this time, all these words and days, trying to find something or keep something alive, only to find out it was never worth it. Everything is taken away from us, nothing is worth it anymore. I think this is one of their best songs for lyrics, and I live the tune as well. Great song. it is sad though, I think some people probably feel like this. |

When I first heard this I thought it was about murder but I think it could be about a relationship as well. Also, its "come off hot" not hard. So, for the murder one I took it quite literally. The first two lines are saying that she'll never make things right once she's killed someone so she'll just cover it up. For the "too cold to shiver" line I imagine the girl running into the snowy woods to hide and eventually becoming too cold to shiver while thinking about the cold body of the girl she killed. Most of the 2nd verse is saying that see thinks people were looking out for her but she wasn't sure if they meant it. The last two lines mean that all the attention the dead girl is getting is taking away some of her fear."pictures for every place no affection just shut her up" means that everything looks hoe it should but it is not the same and now this girl can't show mercy."she can't afford to make it hot" would be that before she couldn't afford to show emotion and now, hiding outside, she can't waste heat even by moving because she's too cold."All the eyes behind the wall taking time towatch her crawl" were all the people who were watching how upset she seemed after the body was discovered."broken hearts are never true empty as the shadows walking over you" I think would mean she did the crime out of revenge, because she trusted someone else who's heart had also been broken but that person betrayed her. It feels like people are walking over her. Last two lines are that she metaphorically let someone walk over her. The background voices could be that she feels like the dead girl or the people she ran away from are still waiting for her. I imagine her dying, haunted, of hypothermia that night in a forest. But that's just me. I think it could just as easily be thelivingfreak and AlecsPen's interpretations but those have already been typed. But this is what I imagined when I first heard it. |

| There seems to be two main groups for what this song is about. I have to say I think its about an actual fire. I could be taking it too literally, and I try to be open minded, but the cd cover music video and some of the lyrics make it seem like she is starting a fire. So, Sunny has been abused or bullied or just sort of held back, and people are walking over her while she tries to keep her life on track, and she just feels like she's not doing anything. She eventually decides to do something about it. She burns down the house or houses of the people who did it to her, presumably while they're home. She finally feels free and now she's on her own and she's okay. | |
