This song is super super hot... I heard Dave say something along the lines of Everyone has the temptation to do something like this at one point in thier lives and that he had been there and that it never turns out good. I don't really have any emotional ties to this song, but i love it just b/c it is Dave at his finest singing about what he sings about best, love, sex, passion...yummmmmm Reminds me a lot of the same premise of "Stay or Leave" another fav of mine. |

| i wouldn't doubt that he would include that in a song like this. He tends to sing a lot about that ;) LOL! Sweet or not he loves the sexy. I was a big fan in the 90's kind of fell away from it and rediscovered my love here in the last year, was VERY surprised at how "dirty" some of his songs are, but I apprecate (i guess you could say) more in a mature way now instead of "OMG!!" and blushing, it's just amazing how he can write something "dirty" and make it sound so right!! He's a sexy beast!! | |

| Good Lord this song, what can i say, the meaning is so clear no need to explain... This man is a genuis pure and simple. This song could be about anyone that he has lost in his life. Dave has said so many times that he tries to not make his songs have one meaning and thats it no way around it. It could be about Leroi, his sister, his father or all of them. The first time i heard this one i broke down. I had a very very close friend that died 3 years ago of cancer at the age of 23, she has 2 beautiful little boys and it was so hard for me to listen to this one for a long time. To me the lines that pack the most punch... You will rest your head, your strength wants saving And when you wake you will fly away Holding tight to the legs of all your angels {She fought so hard, her strength was insane, i will never find anyone with the strength that she had. All the angels that took her home,.and i'm sure that it took many} Goodbye my love into your blue blue eyes in your blue blue world You're my baby blue {She did have blue eyes, but more than that it makes me think of her boys, her baby blues... (plus they both have her eyes} You made me, you made me, you and me forever baby {We became friends in that pivotal point when you are growing up where everyone around you shapes you and molds you into how you become. She was a major part of what makes me who i am, we did a lot of growing up together. She was the first very close friend that i have ever lost and it's really hard.} And this is just how this song makes me feel, who i feel it is written for and i think that's what Dave wants, yes he wrote it for someone in his life, but he wants all of us to take it and mold it into something that we can understand. |

| I can see the polical side to this song, but more than anything i just see it as him telling his woman that no matter what happens she makes it better. She lifts him up, she carries him though. Just one more of those powerful songs that he writes, worshiping women. He loves the girls alright... LOL BUt we love him right back. :) | |

I have always thought that also, along with the next few.... In between the lines i'm gonna pack more lines so i can get them in. The rest of the song i thnk is just about our socities obsession with over indulgence. We want it BIGGER FASTER MORE all the time. He makes a wonderful point (eve if the first of it is all about blow). I love this song, it's one of my favorite up tempo songs by Dave. Drug references or not me and my kids dance around the room to this one a lot! (they are to small to get it, hell i didn't understand a lot of his songs until well into my adulthood and i have been a DMB fan for 15 years) |
