Bush Sr. obviously had been president when this was written and Bush Jr. was Gov. of Texas at the time. If I remember the Texas Gov. race got a ton of media coverage, so this song may seem prophetic however its also just name dropping, political pop culture from the mid 1990's. |

while I like your idea about the moon being a pill i believe he is not high on add meds. "The moon is a lightbulb breaking" refers to a literal lightbulb used to smoke amphetamines. Johnny Dep does this in Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas if you want to see what i mean. The beautiful thing about songs is the words become different meanings to everyone. |
