when i listen to this song, i picture myself bursting through the door uninvited, and sitting there, smirking at him from across the room, just to catch him off guard, my eyes wide with madness, haunting.
the sad thing is, i could already picture that scenario playing out in my life before i even knew what the song was about....... |

this is what the song means to me;
two lovers were together, but only for a short time, because she lives really far away and they can't be together. then, when they're apart, they are both hurting a lot but he's saying that it's ok because he likes the pain. missing her, the sadness and the passionate longing, is a good kind of pain. and i think he's saying that he likes it better that way, that it makes things more exciting/interesting. also that he says he can do anything with any other girl to ease the pain, but he only really wants her. in the last line i think he's saying that he wants to see her and be with her, but not forever so that he can go on being dissatisfied. |

I'm going to interpret this song more literally, just because it matches my situations exactly.
North America-----Atlantic----Europe
that's a lot of space in between, and it hurts a lot. i would know |
