Is it bad if the video to this song made me think of the show Friends? I guess it's the umbrellas and the big hair lol That aside, amazing song. I think it's about trying to revive someone who is emotionally detached or at least wants to be detached because of the pain they are in (thus the line "If you never say your name out loud to anyone They can never ever call you by it") Also "In a town where blood ties are only blood" is an understatement, basically implying relationships aren't what they used to be. |

This song broke my heart, and I will tell you why. When I was younger I had a friend who was a bit older than me named Jessica... one winter she took her own life... it's odd now because I am now older than she was when she died and to me she's frozen in that time, simply sleeping. "It's February again, we must get older, so wake up" It just fits so perfectly. Again, broke my heart. |

| Erykah Badu – Honey Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| The lines "I'm in love wit a bumble bee" "You runnin' from me" and "look for you all over town/ but you gave me the run around" suggest that this song is about a woman who's after a man that won't give her the time of day, playing hard to get, aloof. But the attraction is so strong she keeps going after him anyways, and perhaps he is giving her mixed signals because of the lines "Wanna know if ya feelin' me/ Ooh Slim boy ya killin' me." One second he acts like he likes her, the next he's flying away again like a bumble bee. | |

This song is great and there definitely is deeper meaning. And to all those out there saying that Matt Weddle's acoustic version is "better," yes I do get how the slower tempo helps bring out the bitter lyrics of the song, at the same time it's the dance beat that adds meaning to the song, as if it were a celebration of the nonexistence of committed relationships and of our generation's detachment and sole interest in physical relationships (and it adds irony, since people just want to dance and be care free without even knowing the meaning behind what they're dancing to). Plus, the Matt Weddle version (and really any of the acoustic versions) go downhill once they reach the "shake it" part. Without the hip hop beat, it's just not the same and gets kind of messy. |

| Ingrid Michaelson – Glass Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I love the line "you see through me like I'm not there." It sort of works 2 ways. First he sees through her in the sense that he knows her so well that he understands her, so much so that he sees through her like glass. But then, after they lose whatever it is they had, he sees through her like she isn't there, as if she were invisible, a stranger, who no longer exists. Beautiful song XD |

I like the song because it's relatable and had I known about it last year it ssssssssoooooooo would have been sent to a friend of mine. It's pretty self explanatory, just about a girl in a bad relationship and a friend who's trying to wake her up. |

| K'naan – Until the Lion Learns to Speak Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I love this song, we went over it in English class and I think it's amazing. In the line "Until the lion learns to speak the tales of hunting will be weak" he's basically calling out other artists saying that they might have something very important to say, but until they learn HOW to say it it means nothing. Absolutely amazing! (but these lyrics are wrong...) |
