From what I know this song is about drug addiction. I can't remember where I read it at but I read that it was written about Greg Dulli's friend and collaborator Mark Lanegan when Mark had a relapse. |

I would have to say that "Haven't slipped a day in years" is referring to Mark Lanegan's struggle with drug addiction and that he hasn't resorted to using drugs in years or slipped in years. |
