I think the Jack and Sally part is referencing Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. Also, I think the song overall could be about someone just being broken up with, missing their ex, and then rekindling a past love. They could be missing more than one person. |

On television, people are usually watching and/or hearing (about) it in a hum drum fashion that doesn't leave them any room to think about it. On the radio, you can hear it, and think about it, visualize it, process it, and learn from it. Basically, if there was someone in a situation, like the song, they could listen to this and think, "I don't want to end up like this or have this experience." They can avoid this situation, and this song will inspire them to do so. Also, people don't like this song because it's perverted, sick, and disgusting. We like it because it's catchy and brings up an issue of today and makes us think. It can be sick and disgusting, and frankly pretty terrible, but that is the world. That is life. Sublime sings about the world and life. Deal with it. |

My favorite line is "My time is a piece of wax, Fallin on a termite, chokin on the splinters."
It just gives me that image of wax dripping in slow motion off the side of a candle falling on a termite. It's quite eery, but it makes me feel like time is going so slowly and the world is just standing so still. |

I somewhat agree with you. I agree with you about the telling about how some people's lives are, and that preachy bands get put down. This song inspired me not to hate people anymore. How would you feel if you died, and the last words you said to your parents were, "I hate you!"? It would be so bad for your parents AND you. This song changed my life. for real. |

I think the Jack and Sally reference was directed more towards Tim Burton's: The Nightmare Before Christmas. Hence the "We'll have Halloween on Christmas" line that follows soon after. Jack and Sally were two of the main characters who ended up in love in the end. |
