I don't disagree with the above comments, but I have a different take. I feel like the song is about being passive. About expecting things to happen, waiting for them to fall into your lap. "Nothing ever happened to me, life just passing, flash right through me". People just sit around waiting for things to happen, and nothing happens. Their life passes by them. And in the last line, it's the same thing: "I never saw it coming, waiting for something, for nothing." |
