This is a deep song, def can feel the emotion in this one. I can't interpret the whole song, although I just wanted to offer out an interpretation for one part. This part deals with his relationship between him and Rihanna. I'm just such a gentleman you should give it up for me look at how I'm placing all my napkins and my cutlery "Drake is a a gentlemen, not the typical kind of man that Rihanna has been known to date in the past. He is different, he not like any other. I can tell it wasn't love I just thought you fuck with me who coulda predicted Lucky Strike will have you stuck with me "Drake could tell from the beggining that this would not last, it surprised him tho that it lasted as long as it did. He has stated in interviews after that he felt used by her." Damn I kept my wits about me luckily "Although he got involved with her, he didnt let it get out of control, he knew what to expect." what happened between us that night it always seems to trouble me "I believe they had a big argument one night" now all of a sudden these gossip brags wanna cover me and you making it seem that it happened that way because of me "Rihanna and Drake arguing. Rihanna believes this drama is being cause by Drake seeking fame from the relationship." but I was curious and I'll never forget it baby what an experience you coulda been the one but it wasn't that serious their was smoke in the air before now its me clearing it that felt good, "Drake wanted to give it a try, he has strong feelings for her, but she did not feel the same for him. Although Drake thinks its unfortunate it didnt work out, he is happy for the experience. The relationship was brief, dangerous like a fire, he got burnt, but the relationship burnt out, The smoke has cleared now and Drake feels better. " all and all I learned a lesson from it though you never see it coming you just get to see it go yeah, I shoulda looked up in the sky at first now I can see it in her eyes Fireworks! "You cant predict when a relationship will start or end, you cant see it when its on its way, but when its over you can watch her walk away. The last line is rather poetic. You just can see alot by actually looking into the eyes of the people you admire. This is just my opinion. Nothing official from Drake. |

IMO the song says this: Overview: Drake used to be involved with a girl, but things ended for one reason or another. He is trying to move on and forget about the girl, but still has feelings for her. First verse: (Drake is out on a date with a new girl, Lorraine) He is to move on, he is with a new girl, and for the first time in a long time, he has been able to forget about his ex. During his date he looks down at his phone to see a message from his ex. Suddenly his old feelings are coming back for his ex. And he forgets all about Lorraine. Second Verse: (Drake alone reflecting: Basically Drake is trying to move on, however he does have feelings for his ex. Judging from the line "I hate the shit you do"... the girl must of done drake wrong, and was the cause for the breakup. The girl is toying with his heart now, because she knows he will give in and text her back. Even tho Drake has some resentful feelings, he still has love for the girl, and texts her back telling her he misses her. So a guy dedicating this to you, IMO, means he misses you but is trying to move on and can't. You have a grip over him. Its hard to know tho for sure when I don't know the situation. I love this song, its easy to relate to as I am in this current situation. |
