Actually, Kaoru said they're recording new material for 2011. Anyway, it feels more like this album is more about the band maturing and looking back on themselves. It kind returns to their earlier work, but obviously in a completely new way that embraces their current selves. Kyo said for him "Uroboros" is most similar to "Macabre" except that they accomplished whatever they were trying to do with the album a bit better this time. (In his GIGS interview, I think) Does anyone else feel like MARROW was just this really angry album. The lyrics were mean and hateful and the sound was pure pummeling rage. I think MARROW reflected Kyo's feelings at the time... His interviews around 2007-08 were very depressing to read. He was really suffering somehow. I think with Uroboros he's kind of gotten his shit together... Just my intuition. |

@designedlikedice Yes, many fangirls and fanboiz of Dir en grey are indeed fat (or scrawny) goth types. Just go to a concert and see who shows up! Actually, I was at a show this year and this fat ugly goth kid next to me was pushing hard toward the front/Kyo and some smaller people were like "WTF? GET OFF US!". He had a sweaty torn-fishnet facemask in one hand and was screaming, "I have to give this to Kyoooo!!!!" and this girl was like "KYO DOESN'T WANT YOUR SWEATY MASK JESUS CHRIST." I applauded her on the inside. that's my story. I feel bad for Diru. They need cooler fans :( |

Kyo doesn't "slur" English. He's unintelligible. He's had no practice using it, and also does not give a fuck, thus the heinously lazy pronunciation and complete lack of emphasis on the correct syllables. I feel like people forget that Kyo is pretty uneducated (not stupid). Yeah, Japanese learn English in school, but Kyo said himself that he pretty much flunked all his classes and he only ever finished the American equivalent of the 9th grade. I'm pretty sure he just... does not know how to speak. He might've taught himself enough to write semi-grammatically correctly, but as far as speaking goes I'm sure he never even tries to do it right. That said, Kyo fucking rules. Dude's a badass, no question. |
