you're kidding, right?

Scars On Broadway – 3005 Lyrics 15 years ago
I think "3005" is about letting go of your religious "crutches" and accepting the fact that religion is the downfall of humanity. We are much too smart to hold on to such silly concepts because we are afraid of dying. Religion = War...two equally ignorant entities. And no matter what you decide you believe in, you will be a part of the world when it's blown to smitherines because of religious differences.

Foo Fighters – Everlong Lyrics 15 years ago
Undeniably a great song. My favorite line is "come down, and waste away with me, down with me..." Very poetic in its own way. Thumbs up!

Pearl Jam – Indifference Lyrics 15 years ago
After experiencing death of someone you either didn't expect to die or wanted desperately to live, it puts a dampening view of your own life. ( It is my interpretation from the first verse that a female close to him is dead ). It's as if the powers-that-be do not care what you wanted for yourself, so obviously no one matters. No matter how angry or stubborn you can be about any situation, the ugly truth is that we are born, we live for an uncertain amount of time, and we die. You can pretend that this fact is liberating, but it hurts to know that people die alone.

Incubus – Wish You Were Here Lyrics 15 years ago
As long as we look at it on the surface, it's about wanting someone you care about to be with you in this special place that you're visiting. However, when you consider the lyrics "The world's a roller coaster and I am not strapped in/ Maybe I should hold with care but my hands are busy in the air" then it takes on a spiritual interpretation. You are open, free, and careless to the endless burdens of the universe, and maybe you wish that everyone (especially ones you care most about) could be in the state of bliss and enlightenment that you have just begun to experience. Maybe not exactly what was intended by the poet himself, but that's what makes the song beautiful to me.

I agree that that it's probably not a coincidence. But I disagree that it's the entire point of the song.

Incubus – Talk Shows on Mute Lyrics 15 years ago
Your take on these lyrics are exactly why I love this song, and Incubus, really. We are all brainwashed into thinking that we have to be celebrities to make ourselves a name. We love television, rock stardom, fashion, etc. We immerse ourselves into "scenes" that we feel we fit into, instead of just being intelligent people with ideas of our own.

Incubus – Aqueous Transmission Lyrics 15 years ago
I could listen to this song for hours. Really, most people have the same interpretation of this song. I think of it as the old "if you love something, set it free. if it comes back to you, it's meant to be" kind of cliche. Except it means something more when you actually do it. And the emotions that follow are probably harder to deal with than most people realize. To wait and wonder if somebody will come back? Agonizing, I would imagine. You wouldn't be able to say, "This is a test of your love! Come back to me!" No, instead you would send signals that you want your relationship to endure with this person, so that if and when it does, you can look back and revel in the fact that the love between the two of you was and forever will be real.

Opinions differ with each and every person. And that's okay, because it's all about how the listener wants to personalize it.

A Perfect Circle – Sleeping Beauty Lyrics 15 years ago
This song (along with 3 Libras) was played at one of my dearest friend's funeral. I think about him a lot when I hear it, because he was a lonely person, and he had his addictions. In a way he is my sleeping beauty, because I wanted so badly to "save" him. I selfishly thought my relationship with him would give him something to live for, but he was too far away from the world. I miss the hell out of him.
