Maybe slightly more than the standard love, that you're so in love with them that you want to your lives to become one even though it would mean a massive change in your own life, or maybe that your life is going by that fast that the "slowing down" this song references is like "stopping to smell the flowers" |

I could listen to a whole day of music like this. I guess it has no particular meaning other than "It's all life" |

Xerox is a company not a process.
I get the feeling this isn't supposed to be about anything, in the same way David Bowie "wrote" a few songs by sticking together a bunch of words written on bits of paper |

A few years ago (feels like a lifetime now) I'd regularly pick up my friends and just f**k off to somewhere, anywhere. I can't think of any song that more sums up that time of my life. |

Could it not be about burying a friend or family member, who for some reason died before their time, perhaps as a result of something the writer did (or didn't do)?
Wishing he could say goodbye because he wasn't there, being sorry because there was something (or nothing) he could have done. I've never heard of this Hanging Rock as a place I figured it referred to a headstone (which also becomes part of the scenery) |

| Arcade Fire – Keep the Car Running Lyrics

The whole album sounds like a melding of modern life and spirituality to me and I think the car he mentions time and again alludes to a Meatloaf line "If life is just a highway, and your soul just a car"
Thus keeping the car running would mean living life, because you might not be here by the end of the day, and if that's the case it's not because it was through his own choice. |

I find this quite similar in meaning to "Another Girl, Another Planet" in that he needs to be in different places all the time, travelling around. However the only way to have gone somewhere is to have returned home. |

Divorce is a long drawn out process, and I think this is a progression from the Kid A version. The original feels more calm and melodic like it's just something that you're doing, whereas this one (how many years later?) it's haunting, almost screaming "release me"
There is the inevitable fight over who has custody of the children, and joint posessions, which is still going on. This could have been done slightly different lyrically too to add to the different feel but I think the lyrics being the same (even sung the same?) is part of the point that this process is the same argument, the same s**t every time. |

| Radiohead – Fitter Happier Lyrics

In the album cover it's "...frequently checks credit at (moral) bank..." suggesting that as an adult an an upstanding pillar of society you'd never put your money into a bank that will do anything immoral like fund war, animal testing (or even give themselves massive bonuses?)
I like the way everyone's said it's about model society and a checklist for the model human, but no-one's mentioned that no matter how placated or docile and robotic you become you're still human and there's nothing you can do about it:
"Still cries at a good film
Still kisses with saliva"
That there is still some passion of living despite the repetition and monotony, that the writer is fighting against it all by maintaining emotion and love. |

I believe this relates to the permanence of the earth, the eternity of the spirit, thus when someone close to you dies they might well be watching over you. I believe it's about things we couldn't even begin to fully understand or even imagine properly in such a concrete sense as words. |
