New Found Glory – Black And Blue Lyrics 15 years ago
one of my favorite new found glory songs.

helps me relate when i think of the last couple years of my life where this girl would constantly build me up and break me down, and when i finally had enough and tried to stay friends with her without the mind games she just wrote me off and left me alone.

it was apparently about a rest stop outside of nashville. like if you have ever been outside of that city in any of the country ass rest stops on 40 then you should be well-aware who he is talking about.

Cold World – Roaches and Rats Lyrics 15 years ago
this song clicks with me too personally. dealing with IV drug addictions is fucking challenging and can be described just like this song does.

Eighteen Visions – You Broke Like Glass Lyrics 15 years ago
hahahaha straight edge is not an oath. it's a commitment but you don't recite any kind of pre-defined lines as like an induction.

Hatebreed – Doomsayer Lyrics 15 years ago
this is the hardest song ever. the mosh at the end of this song live is incredible, people absolutely going insane. it's good to get that aggression out.

Hatebreed – Tear It Down Lyrics 15 years ago
this song is another great on-point hatebreed album opener.

my friend's band covers this at shows and whenever it is played... boy oh boy do things get wild.

Hatebreed – Kill An Addict Lyrics 15 years ago
hatebreed is by no means straight edge, i don't think i've ever heard that one before hahaha.

anyone who has ever dealt with addiction on a real level, knows that this song is about killing the addict you've become with the fucked up actions that destroy not only your life but the lives of those around you through your fucked up self-serving actions.

Hatebreed – Unloved Lyrics 15 years ago
such a good song. i think this is about being known that you were unwanted growing up by a parent and trying to let go of the pain and trying to establish a relationship with that person again, but realizing that doing so is too much. i feel like this song is the direct transcription of me and my brothers' relationships with our father.

YOU WERE NEVER A PART OF MY LIFE
AND YOU NEVER WILL BE

Hatebreed – We Still Fight Lyrics 15 years ago
i agree with this song so much, i absolutely can't stand rich fucking privileged teens/20-somethings who talk all about peaceful anarchy when they live in perfect security in their suburban homes their parents paid for with it's gates, fences, neighborhood watch, and general upper to upper-middle class lifestyles. if they were let loose into the realm of man at his most basic survival mode these twinkies wouldn't let last a day. so who are these kids to demean the people who voluntarily choose to do what they feel is the best option of protecting the freedoms that people in this country have, freedoms those little shits take for granted.

Hatebreed – Below The Bottom Lyrics 15 years ago
this song to me is about watching loved ones sinking to the despicable level of the addict who leeches and uses everyone around them to get what they desire, and wanting to help them but knowing you can't unless they recognize what it is they are really doing. great song, great message.

Hatebreed – You're Never Alone Lyrics 15 years ago
another great song on a great album.

this song to me is the truest statement of punk rock. most kids involved in hardcore/punk/metal have very negative perceptions of the world around them and will quite often latch onto that hate of what is around them and use it to try to change those things they hate. unfortunately as is the case quite often after what feels so long of trying, and seeing that sometimes there are things that can't be changed some will lose hope and sight of what the point of it all is and will get tremendously depressed, apathetic, and in some cases nihilism will take over. hatebreed is saying that you must look in yourself to see that while you can't change the world, you can still change yourself and remove yourself from that which you hate; so don't give up that hate, just because you can't change the world doesn't mean you have to accept it and conform. the best part though is the message that never believe it's just you against the world, you are in fact one of a group of people who continue to fight the good fight.

Hatebreed – Perseverance Lyrics 15 years ago
this song is about conquering the obstacles that you face in life, because failure is not an option as you long as your force yourself to persevere.

my favorite hatebreed song ever, i owe my life to this song i would of killed myself if this song didn't come on right when it did, i was writing my suicide letter secretly in my shared bedroom when my brother put this CD in our stereo. after hearing the last three lines of the second verse of this song "realize hope isn't short of your grasp, resurrect every dream that you buried alive, and never succumb to the war that you fight in your heart" i knew right then that no matter the struggle in life it can be overcome and defeated.

Hatebreed – Proven Lyrics 15 years ago
i think this song was about some people from the hardcore scene that hatebreed came from giving them shit for supposedly "selling-out" with releasing Perseverance on Universal Records, and hatebreed basically saying "we've been here for years and we're going to keep doing what we believe is right and we will be sticking around whether you think we will or not." and you know what? what hardcore band that started in 1995 is still around, let alone fucking revelant enough to keep releasing great records and still believing in the same values they founded the band on? that's right none except hatebreed.

this song reminds me of that line from the bane song Count Me Out "and i'll be here tomorrow, and i'll be here next year, just like this x on the back of my hand, i ain't going nowhere" (excluding the straight edge reference of course haha.)

Hatebreed – Worlds Apart Lyrics 15 years ago
last 40 seconds of this song make me want to wreck peoples faces.

song to me is about how we have become desensitized to the idea of crime, and have become so focused on sheltering ourselves from the truth that life has just as much evil as good that we have reached the ultimate atrocity: apathy.

Hatebreed – Betrayed By Life Lyrics 15 years ago
This song to me is about how important it is to not wallow in despair when things go wrong because you are not alone and that we must all help each other out since we've all be there. There of course being rock bottom.

Hatebreed – Before Dishonor Lyrics 15 years ago
also the homophobic thing is about an interaction with the singer of the former South Carolina punk band Guyana Punch Line (he was also in In/Humanity who were actually pretty rad if you like powerviolence). ive the letter that the singer has written on the subject, in fact you can read it here, http://d-wp.blogspot.com/2009/07/why-i-never-bought-hatebreed-cd.html , and i don't really know to how much i believe him. hatebreed are known to not take shit and definitely back in the 90s when they were a lot smaller and hardcore was a bit different i could see something somewhat similar to this maybe happening, but at the same time i just don't see anyone in the band being homophobes. and if they are, they definitely don't advertise it, i have everything hatebreed has released (they're probably my favorite band) and nowhere do i find any themes or messages in the lyrics that support intolerance or hatred of anyone. i sure know i wouldn't dislike them for it and i don't think anyone else should, especially considering the fact that i'm a gay man myself.

Hatebreed – Before Dishonor Lyrics 15 years ago
This song to me is about the constant need to fight for what you wish to achieve in life, never let your guard down, but not let your failures hold you back. It's these convictions, what lies in your heart, that will be with you forever since nothing in life is truly permanent.

Hatebreed – Not One Truth Lyrics 15 years ago
how are there no comments on this? song is so good, and the only hatebreed to be featured on three separate records (the split 7" with Neglect, Under the Knife, and Satisfaction is the Death of Desire for those curious.)

i think this song is about how our own personal ambitions can sometimes put a blur on the need to remain a good person, and how we must balance those two opposing forces.
