| I can really relate to this song. I am in love with my best friend, but alas my love is unreciprocated. So my interpritation is he's saying that no one can love this girl the way he does. And, as cliche as it is, it is true for me. He can find himself a girlfriend, but I can love him in a way that no one else can. The lyrics "On my heart I'll bear the shame. No prayer can ease the pain" in my case means that I'm ashamed that I couldn't earn his love and shame/embarassment of making a fool of myself for falling for him and telling him. and the pain of it all is impossable to ease. "And there's no escape, Just countless mistakes" means that I can't escape the memories, good and bad and that my mistakes haunt me and beat me down. "It will never be the same." means that things between us will never truly be the same becausewe know eachother's feeling. "Witness trust fade away" means that my/his self-trust and the trust between us will falter because I won't trust my thoughts to stay in my head and we can't trust in the emotions that we potray I.E. He gets a girlfriend and I say I'm happy for him when I want to cry. But I'd still be happy for him. Well now it's starting to sound like a blog XP But yeah, that's what I feel about the song. | |

I don't really think it's about sex; it has a nuance of sexuality,but that's not te central meaning . Personally I think it more of a love song more so than to get into someone's pants. For example, "I hold your hand in mine I hold your hand and you�re so lonely Oh so lonely Your eyes have lost their light Your eyes have lost their light and you�re empty Oh my God you�re so empty" mmy interpretation of that part is: Boy can't stand seeing his friend of the female persuasion (and possable love intrest)in so much pain. She has become cold and emotionally dead. He misses her cheerful and happy outlook and he'll do anything to make her happy again as implied in the next verse. "(I'm in love with you) You are my heaven tonight. ect." The "I'm in love with you" ccould be an actual confession of love or just to make her happy but most likely the first option and the "You are my heaven tonight" part is that when he is with her he feels like he's in heaven and that night will be heaven. And even though it's not a part of the song I also get the vibe that he will try to make this night heaven for her in what ever way she wants or needs, whether it be holding her in his arms, being her shoulder to cry on, or even a one night stand (or a deeper emotional feeling during the act ;D) BUUUUT that's just me. |
