I first heard this song at 12 and this song really piqued my interest in rock music (and The Clash!). I think this song is about apocalyptic London ("war is declared," "battle come down," "ice age is coming, the sun's zooming in"). |

I believe this song was about a breakup he never got over, and he wants another chance at the relationship, "another flashing chance at bliss." Just my opinion. |
