| Gayngs – The Last Prom On Earth Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I think this song is talking about screwing up a long relationship by breaking a partners trust ("I promise, from now, I'll be true - But if you don't trust me girl, that's ok, I understand"). 'One last prom' is a metaphor for getting a second chance, even when there are prettier women the singer could get ("I'm noticing a '10' to the right") however, he wants his old flame ("but i'd rather trade up in attics"). The last few lines talk about how the singer will do anything to get this person back, using emotional, creditable, and possibly by financial means ("I burn the needle down red - tryin' to find my credit some debit"). Once he gets this person back she will teach him a lesson ("when I wake you're Socratic") and the other women will be jealous ("heard 'em say your name up in the bitch debates!!") That's how I see it, hope some others comment on the meaning of this great song! :) |
